I purchased this oversize window insulator kit for my 16 month old's bedroom which had a pretty good sized draft. The window is quite large (68 x 64) so this is the kit that I needed. I agree with several of the critics of this device. This product possesses a poorly designed latching system. I as well had the spring locking mechanism drop down out of place causing the legs not to close all the way as originally designed to do. Unless you force this small plastic piece back up where it belongs with a screwdriver, it will prevent the legs from closing all the way. If the legs don't close all the way, then it becomes difficult to hold like a regular flashlight which it is suppose to be able to do. This leg locking flaw does not prevent the legs from acting as a tripod stand for the light. I like the light a lot and if you really only want to use the flashlight as a light source on a tripod, then this product will be useful. The locking mechanism problem unfortunately has a huge negative impact on the overall product. This terribly designed and unacceptable quality of the leg locking mechanism reflects poorly on this item overall since it prevents the flashlight from performing the way it is meant to be used with all the promoted features of this flashlight. I got this over a year ago and just got around to opening it up to use for a outside project. It is the older version with 6 LED bulbs. The item was paired up with the little brother of this item, the 95-111, and this smaller version of this reviewed item doesn't seem to have the same leg locking flaw since it works just as it is supposed to without any problems locking the legs into place.

Final conclusion, I like the design, I don't like the fact that the locking portion of the legs on my flashlight broke the first time I pressed the button. Something is really wrong if your product breaks the first time it is taken out of the box. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the local TV station for theft and harrasment if they charge me anything over $2.99 or sign me up for anything at all. Still haven't recieved my order, but I did call another number I found on the internet and a very friendly, understanding person assured me she'd take care of everything. It does a great job of heating my much larger than average bedroom. the unit itself shows the room temperature and the temperature you are setting, as well as the mode (fan, low, high). These readings are on the top of the unit, so unless you are right there, directly looking down, you can't see them. So for example, if it is on the floor and you are sitting just a few feet away, you can no longer see the settings. (And it works so well, if you have the temp set a degree to high, you will quickly regret it.)

Another problem is the remote only offers controls to let you turn on and off and raise or lower the temperature or change mode. On the remote you can't see what temp you are setting or which mode you are in. I have a portable fan with a remote that show all the information shown on the unit, and that works much better. If, like me, you use the heater where you can't see it's display and will mostly use the remote, you might want to see if there's one with a more intelligent remote.

But other than that, it is great at heating up a room, and since it has a thermostat, you don't need to deal with constantly adjusting it once the room gets warmed up, or through the night as the outside temperature changes.

I have several regular AA minimags, 1st generation led mini mag and now a 2nd generation.
The 2nd gen is a vast improvement on the first.

First, its brighter than the 1st gen.

Second, if you quickly turn it off then on again, then it dims to save power, blinks, or blinks SOS.

Third, the 2nd gen is shorter then the 1st gen though still longer than the original. I dont know what they were thinking, but the 1st gen had a longer barrel/body with a tail cap that lacked the keyring hole. It was longer because the tail cap was longer at the inside threading and held a longer spring so the barrel/body had to be longer to accommodate it, but I really didn't see a purpose to do that. It was just wasted space. The 2nd gen has a tailcap that is identical to the original minimag, which allowed me to replace the tailcap with a push button on/off switch (made by niteize) that i originally had installed on one of my other minimags.

Mini mags are durable and led bulbs uses much less energy so it can stay on for much longer. Its a great combination.

Ordered my Waste King L2600 on Tuesday and it was delivered on Thursday. You can't beat that with a stick. The first thing I zeroed in on when I took it out of the box was the power cord. This thing was not intended to be easily removed, which was my intent since I don't have a switched outlet. My old disposal is hard-wired to a switch. First of all, the wire connections are crimped so you can't just back off a wire-nut and pull them apart. No biggy, you just cut the wires, but then comes that strain relief. The cord and the strain relief are molded together as a unit, the strain relief being a solid rubber plug that, when pushed into the hole in the housing can't be removed, which is as it should be. That's why it's there but if you want to remove that cord, then you've got a problem.

What I ended up doing was taking an Exacto knife and cutting away the inside "shoulder" portion of the strain relief to the point where I could muscle it back out thru the hole, using a small screwdriver as a prying tool. Once that was done it was just a matter of stripping the ends of the two wires on the unit in preparation for hooking them to the wires from the switch.

My suggestion: Make that cord an option and instead of installing it at the factory, put it in the box along with a couple of wire-nuts and some simple instructions for those who need them. A strain relief would be installed at the factory because that is a requirement regardless of which electrical hook up you go with - the cord to be plugged into a switched outlet or hard wired to a switch. It would have saved me about 30 minutes of futzing around removing that cord that came pre-installed. Well... it does everything it did in the demo: lights up, beeps, etc. However, finding the studs is a different matter. I ran the device probably 20 times. I got about 15 different locations for the stud +/-4 cms. 5 times it didn't find any studs. I tried the deep scan, same results. I also figured out that you can make it report a stud pretty much everywhere just by touching it with your other hand. The device is also very sensitive to the amount of pressure applied towards the wall. If you imagine - as I did - that you can buy this, run it over the wall and then drill securely in the middle of the stud, you can forget it. If you want to roughly now where a stud it, it may or may not be sufficient. However, my wife was able to find the same stud in about 10 seconds just by knocking on the wall, with about the same degree of accuracy. And, unlike this device, she was able to reproduce that pretty well 5 minutes later. This device is going back tomorrow. I keep the wife.

Got the tool for Christmas. Needed it for undercutting baseboard as well as cut aluminum from my front door frame to fit in my new front-door threshold. As some of the other folks in these reviews, the tool wood-cutting bit kept on coming loose. I was afraid of tightening it too much, but after it came loose again-and-again after about 5 minutes of use I decided to tighten it until could feel the motor turning. This time it did not come loose as easily but I am not sure how long it will handle this - so far so good. It does however still come loose when I hit a hard spot, like when I encounter a nail or when it touched the cement floor when cutting the baseboard or if you force it - let the tool do the work.

If you want a tool that you can force and use for hours on end, you need to consider another, and needless to say a considerably more expensive tool. It is good value for money, and if you - like me - undercut lots of baseboard manually with a jam saw before you got this tool, you will find this tool a great time-saver and an absolute pleasure to use.

Just as side note I have only used the wood and wood-metal bits and have not used it to cut pipes, grout, etc, just used it to cut a small notch out of an aluminum door frame and the baseboards. I did use it to trim the edge of a custom-cut laminate flooring piece as I was too lazy to use the circular saw and it burns the wood but it did manage to trim 1mm off of it none the less.

Pros: Lightweight, relatively inexpensive, easy to use, great time-saver over manually cutting door-jams.
Cons: Thick (solid-wood) stair jams (not sure what this is called, the wood trim on either side of my stairs that run all the way down the stairs and meet the concrete floor where I installed the laminate flooring and had to undercut the wood trim to slide the laminate underneath, about 2in thick solid wood) took a while to cut and burns the wood with smoke pouring out of the wood (probably other oscillating tools will do the same), the heat that comes from the tool after about 5 minutes of continuous cutting is excessive, the bit that comes loose again-and-again is my biggest concern as now that I tighten it real good (until I can feel the motor turning) am not sure how long it will last before something strips or breaks but since it still holds have to give it the benefit of the doubt, the casing it comes in is very cheap, the custom bits are expensive (like the sander).Get more detail about Dremel 6300-03 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit.

It's funny how if like myself, you research about every single purchase online before buying. I did this with this very item and was dumbfounded at how at every single source, this item was given either the very highest or 2nd highest review able to be given. My wife told me she tried replacing a burned out bulb with 2 others and we needed to call a garage repair tech since the socket was DEAD. Took this tester and found it showed to actually have power. Hmmm.....So who would guess the wife had pulled out a paper bag from out closet with several bad supposedly new bulbs? Kept trying till I got one that worked. Saved me an $80.00 plus service call 1st day.
The Christmas tree lights was the same story finding & isolating bad bulb and not wasting money for a whole new set. Now, regarding a single complaint about wanting a green light for one thing, red for another for safety> Well for someone like myself who is NOT educated in electricity and the like, I actually prefer always a RED light that reacts differently to different circumstances. It makes me too scared to drop my guard and get careless.
So there you have it, a completely NON professional review by an old guy scared to death of getting zapped. But this paid for itself the first 5 minutes and before I even read the instructions. In fact, I haven't since getting it. It is so OBVIOUS when you simply turn it off & on, how the beeper/buzzer works nobody should ever need any instructions! Really, i have no clue and it was so obvious to me, it was a cakewalk! This brand is trusted by more tradespeople than any brand I know for test equipment. I am glad I took a chance. I love this simple, easy to use, reliable, durable, with EASY to replace batteries device. Shocking huh?
